This Privacy Policy explains how KongsikanDotCom (“Kongsikan”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit kongsikan.com, watch our videos on YouTube and other platforms, or when our own publishing tools connect to Google and YouTube services on behalf of the KongsikanDotCom channel.
1. Who we are
KongsikanDotCom is an educational publisher producing short Malay-language videos and articles that explain science, technology and everyday facts. We are the owner and publisher of the content on kongsikan.com and the KongsikanDotCom YouTube channel.
2. Information we collect
- Information you give us — for example your name and email address when you contact us, leave a comment or subscribe to updates.
- Usage information — standard web server logs and analytics such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring site, used to keep the site secure and understand which content is useful.
- Cookies — small files used for essential site functions, remembering preferences and anonymous analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
- Comments — comment text, name, email and IP address; comments may be checked by an automated spam-detection service.
3. Google and YouTube API Services
KongsikanDotCom uses YouTube API Services through an internal publishing tool operated only by the KongsikanDotCom team. The tool is used solely to upload and manage videos, thumbnails and playlists on our own YouTube channel. When the channel owner authorises the tool, it receives:
- OAuth access and refresh tokens for the KongsikanDotCom Google account, with the scopes
youtube.uploadandyoutube; - basic channel information (channel name and ID) to confirm the correct channel is used;
- the IDs and status of videos and playlists created by the tool.
This data is used only to publish KongsikanDotCom videos. It is stored encrypted-at-rest on our private server with restricted access, is never sold, never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and is not used to access any viewer’s or any other user’s account.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. By using our YouTube content you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Access granted to our tool can be revoked at any time from the Google Account security page at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When access is revoked, or on request, we delete the stored tokens within 7 days.
4. How we use information
- to operate, secure and improve kongsikan.com;
- to publish and manage our own educational videos;
- to reply to messages and comments;
- to understand which topics are useful to our audience (aggregated statistics only).
5. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the website (for example hosting, security and spam filtering), when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and of KongsikanDotCom.
6. Embedded content from other websites
Articles may include embedded content such as YouTube videos. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website, which may collect data, use cookies and track your interaction according to its own privacy policy.
7. Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Comments and their metadata are kept until removed. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including HTTPS, access control and security monitoring, to protect information.
8. Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent, by contacting us. If you are in Malaysia, we handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
9. Children
Our content is general-audience educational material. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with its effective date.
